The national promotion conference of Malaysia was held at Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center on Oct 21st, 2010.
As the largest trading partner of China among ASEAN countries, the trade volume between China and Malaysia reached US$51.96 billion in 2009 while the bilateral trade volume totaled US$41.16 billion during the first seven months of this year, increased by 60.2% compared with last year, which made the expected annual trade volume between two sides to US$60 billion .By the end of 2009, Malaysia invested in all in China US$5.36 billion and US$379 million in Malaysia by China. And 1.059 million Malaysian and 0.609 million Chinese visited each others' country.
China and Malaysia are connected by mountains and rivers with long history of friendly contacts. The bilateral strategic cooperation in peace and development has been strengthened these years especially after the establishment of CAFTA, which made economic and trade cooperation between two sides entered a blooming period with frequent high-level mutual visits and further deepening cooperation in various fields. Governments also attach great attention on bilateral economic and trade cooperation with the trade volume between two sides developed smoothly and growing expanded mutual investment scale, especially cooperation in economic and technology, contractual labor service and tourism which in all made two-way investment remains active and increased personal exchanges.
Guangxi and Malaysia are good neighbors across the sea. Benefited from the friendly development of China-Malaysia relationship, the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides continuously expand and deepen as the two sides boast their respective advantages in economic structure and products and resources enjoy strong complementarities. The consecutive held CAEXPO has been a bond for furthering economic and trade contact between the two countries. During all the 6 previous CAEXPOs, Malaysia had sent their senior government officials to attend the exhibition fairs and forums, seeking cooperation chances with Chinese enterprises. Delegations for Guangxi people and government also have visited Malaysia to build closer contact with their Malaysia counterparts and to speed up bilateral economic and trade cooperation. Guangxi now fully implements the Opinions on Further Promote Economic and Social Development in Guangxi, the Strategic Development of Western china and Development Plan on Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, accelerating the establishment of industrial bases in petrochemical, steel, automobile, paper, nuclear power, aluminum processing, grain and oil processing, electronic information. Efforts are made in development of service industry such as financial, logistics, business trade and tourism to build regional modern business trade logistics base, advanced manufacturer base, featured agricultural and information exchange base, thus gradually turning Guangxi Beibu Gulf economic zone into a major international economic cooperation zone, which will boost the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Guangxi and Malaysia.
