On September 13, the 6th China-ASEAN Logistics Cooperation Forum was held in Nanning.
Li Kang, vice chairman of the Autonomous Region CPPCC, attended and addressed the forum. The forum focused on how to enhance and broaden the logistics cooperation between China and ASEAN with the theme of “Focusing on the Construction of Southbound Channels and Enhancing Logistics integration at the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Zone”. Mr. He Liming, president of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP), Mr. Dai Yi, chairman and party secretary of Guangxi Materials Group and president of Guangxi Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, and other 9 logistic experts delivered keynote speeches at the main forum.
Liu Xin, general manager of Guangxi Materials Group, and Yun Mian, vice president of China Society of Logistics (CSL) and operation director of Tianjin Delide Supply China Management Co., Ltd, presided over the main forum.
Li Kang, vice chairman of the Autonomous Region CPPCC, said that as the frontier and window of China's opening-up and cooperation with ASEAN, Guangxi will take the ride of the trend of the southward construction, and work with ASEAN countries to broaden all-round cooperation, promote the logistics integration at the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and accelerate the building of the China-ASEAN Communities of Common Destiny, so to make due contributions. In order to deepen the logistics cooperation between China and ASEAN countries and integrate Pan-Beibu Gulf logistics, he proposed to establish an effective government consultation mechanism within the framework of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area for exchange and cooperation in logistics industry. China and ASEAN countries should strengthen exchanges and cooperation between logistics industry associations and flagship enterprises, continuously improve logistics efficiency and reduce logistics costs, and better serve the development of the real economy.
He Liming, President of China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP), attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Building an Outbound Logistics Channel to Help International Logistics Development".
Mr. Dai Yi, chairman and party secretary of Guangxi Materials Group and president of Guangxi Federation of Logistics & Purchasing, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Relying on the Southbound Channels, Subdividing Exclusive Areas and Accelerating the Construction of Logistics Integration in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Zone”. At the meeting, he advocated to solve the pain points and difficult problems in the current regional logistics integration development, and suggested it should put focus on niche logistics market and exclusive areas, strengthen the integration of regional logistics resources, intensify supply chain innovation, accelerate the construction of logistics integration in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and jointly build an upgraded version of China-ASEAN Free Trade Zone.
Tang Haoang, member of the Standing Committee of Fangchenggang Municipal Party Committee and executive deputy mayor of the municipal government, introduced the advantages that Fangchenggang City enjoys in the construction of southbound channels and the integration of the Pan-Beibu Gulf logistics, indicating efforts have been made to build a multimodal transport system, a cold chain logistics industrial base, a modern logistics integrated service system, and a new digital logistics.
The participating parties believed that with the further promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative and the opening of southbound channels, the regional logistics integration presented a series of new development trends and changes. The forum aims to promote the active participation of China and ASEAN countries in the construction of the southbound channels, promote in-depth exchanges, learning and cooperation among players in the logistics industry, strengthen the integration of regional logistics resources, intensify supply chain innovations, and accelerate the integration of logistics in the Pan-Beibu Gulf economic zone, to jointly create an upgraded version of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
The forum was hosted by China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP), the Autonomous Region Government, the Autonomous Region’s Development and Reform Commission, the Communications Department, the Department of Commerce, the Guangxi Materials Group, and the Guangxi Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, and co-organized by The Fangchenggang Municipal Government. Since 2010, China-ASEAN Logistics Cooperation Forum has been successfully held for five sessions. It is one of the China-ASEAN Expo’s Brand Forums and the only professional forum hosted by industry associations and enterprises.
In addition to the main forum, this forum also has 3 thematic sub-forums called “Specially Recommended City – Fangchenggang Special Promotion Conference”, “Playing Out the Resources and Advantages of The Southbound Channels to Build A China-ASEAN Smart Fresh Supply Chain Ecosystem”, and “Building the Southbound Channel Multimodal Transport System to Promote the Normal Operation of China-ASEAN Cross-border Intermodal Transport”. After the meeting, guests of the conference are also invited to visit Fangchenggang City on spot, and it will provide guests with a platform for investment procurement and project matchmaking in the regional logistics industry.
800 experts from China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the National Development and Reform Commission, China Society of Logistics (CSL), the Guangxi Logistics and Purchasing Association, and the logistics industry in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Germany attended the forum.
