The Seribu Islands district administration reopened its tourism resorts by complying with stringent health protocols following the Jakarta government's policy on the transitional large-scale social distancing (PSBB) measure toward a new normal.

Various facilities in place that adhere to the health protocols, include the installation of sinks for washing hands at several places, Puji Hastuti, head of the Seribu (Thousand) Islands tourism and creative economy office, stated here on Sunday.

"(Handwashing) sinks have been installed at every port, and we have made it mandatory for the tourism facility homestay managers to meet the health protocol requirements," she noted.

The reopening of the islands’ tourist resorts is in accordance with Governor's Decree Number 563 of 2020 on implementation of the initial stage for the transitional PSBB, starting June 13, 2020.

Tourists holidaying on the resort islands amid the COVID-19 pandemic are fully sentient of the significance of health protocols, so tourism activities have been running smoothly, according to Hastuti.

"Based on our observation, several tourists are coming here, and they apply the health protocols. They do not forget to wear masks and wash their hands," she remarked.

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office (Disparekraf) has reopened tourist attractions in the capital in stages, starting from June 13, 2020, by applying strict health protocols in accordance with Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan’s instructions.

The number of visitors has been limited to just 50 percent of the existing capacity of each tourist attraction.

Several other tourist attractions in the capital city, such as the Ancol Dream Land and the Beautiful Indonesian in Miniature Park (TMII), have also reopened for visitors.
