To further promote the exchanges of culture and arts among the youth of China-ASEAN nations, and continuously strengthen the common relationship in culture and arts between China and ASEAN nations, the Exhibition of Awarded Works of the 6th China-ASEAN Youth Art Works Creation Competition was celebrated in Guangxi Museum on Sep. 24, 2012. Huang Gesheng, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Guangxi Committee was also present. There are a total of more than 300 participants, including the leaders of the co-sponsoring institutions, guests from the ASEAN nations, the representatives of foreign students, Chinese artists, representative entrepreneurs and college students majoring in arts.

It is reported that the 6th China-ASEAN Youth Art Works Creation Competition officially launched in March of this year, aimed at "carrying forward the national culture, leading the trend of arts creation, exploring the new forms of arts, and promoting cultural and arts exchanges among the youth of China- ASEAN nations". Focusing on oil paintings of landscape, the exhibition had collected 1,251 pieces from ten countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Lao PDR and Saudi Arabia. 70 paintings won awards after the final vote. The exhibition of awarded works lasts from Sep. 24 to Sep. 27, which involves fine works of art maters at home and abroad, the awarded works in this competition and previous ones.

According to the introduction by Bai Songtao, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Competition and the General Secretary of the Young Communist League of China, Guangxi Committee, the China-ASEAN Youth Art Works Creation Competition is held in response to the call for "enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the fields of science and technology, culture, education, and sports, and regularly organizing activities of culture, arts and sports" made by Premier Wen Jiabao at the Commemorative Summit Marking the 15th Anniversary of China-ASEAN Dialogue Relations. The competition has been held successfully for five times since its inception in 2006 during the CAEXPO annually and has received over 9,600 pieces of work, more than 1,000 of which are awarded. The Competition has become a platform for exchanges among the China-ASEAN youth in culture and arts and a bridge connecting the art circles of the China-ASEAN nations.

At the opening ceremony, delegates from ASEAN countries and Mr. Lu Dongliang, representative of the co-organizers of the competition and general manager of Guangxi branch of China Unicom Co. Ltd., made speeches respectively and gave a high praise to the competition. Then, the leaders, distinguished guests and delegated present at the opening ceremony toured around the exhibition hall.
