The 11th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum was opened in Guangxi, China

As a major program in celebration of the 25th anniversary of establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue relations, a sideline event of the 13th China-ASEAN Expo and part of programs for the China-ASEAN Year of Education Exchanges 2016, the 11th China-ASEAN Cultural Forum was opened in Nanning, Guangxi, China on September 10th.
H.E. Mr. Ding Wei, Vice Minister of Culture of China, H.E. Mr. Huang Ribo, Vice Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, H.E. Mr. Savankhone Razmountry, Vice Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Lao PDR, ASEAN Chairmanship 2016, H.E. Madam Yang Xiuping and senior officials of the Ministry of Education of China and ministries of culture of the ASEAN countries as well as representatives of Chinese arts vocational colleges attended the opening ceremony.
In his speech, Mr. Ding Wei spoke highly of the achievements that China and ASEAN had made in cultural exchanges and cooperation. He hoped that the two sides would make full use of the China-ASEAN Cultural Forum as a platform to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and have more mutual assistance, as efforts to build the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in culture and forge an even closer China-ASEAN Community of Common Destiny.
The Forum is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of China and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, supported by the Ministry of Education of China, co-organized by the International Liaison Bureau of the Ministry of Culture of China, the Department of Culture and the Department of Education of Guangxi, and associated by the ASEAN-China Center and the Instructing Committee of China Culture & Arts Vocational Education. With Communications & Sharing – China-ASEAN Art Education Cooperation & Development as the theme, the Forum arranged the China-ASEAN Roundtable Meeting for Presidents of Arts Colleges, which approved the Minutes afterwards. Representatives of Chinese and ASEAN art education communities discussed art vocational education, traditional arts and their development and the characteristics of arts vocational colleges. In addition, the 11th Red Bronze Drum China-ASEAN Arts Education Achievements Exhibition and relevant performances were also arranged on the sideline.
