The minister’s statement came after the meeting of President Joko Widodo and World Bank Indonesia and Timor Leste Representative Rodrigo A. Chaves in the president’s office here.
"There were several advises with the ultimate priority is human resources development by intensifying education sector in basic education and vocational one," the minister said, referring to Chaves’ main advises conveyed in the meeting to achieve the target.
Conveying Chaves’ other advises, Bambang said that infrastructure remains a focal attention that should be applied in the upcoming presidential five-year term as Indonesia’s per capita infrastructure value was still lower compared with the other emerging markets.
"So infrastructure needs to be continued with emphasis on connectivity and basic public needs like clean water, sanitation and electricity," he added.
Sustainable use of natural resources, tax collection improvement and export-oriented investments are also advised to boost the nation’s economic growth, the minister said.
Particularly in investment, Bambang said that Indonesia is advised to get investments that highly support the nation to get involved further in global trade mechanism by attracting more foreign investments.
