This year is the first year of the implementation of the "China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030" (hereinafter referred to as the Vision 2030) and it is also the China-ASEAN Year of Media Exchanges. The 16th China-ASEAN Expo (hereinafter referred to as the CAEXPO) and the 16th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (hereinafter referred to as CABIS) have been successfully held on September 21-24, 2019. Under the leadership of the members of the Organizing Committee ,including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, this event has deepen the cooperation in the areas of economy and trade, connectivity, finance, digital economy social development and people-to-people exchanges with the theme of “Building the Belt & Road, Realizing Our Vision for a Community of Shared Future”.This event has also advanced the important mechanism and projects including New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, a financial gateway opening up to  ASEAN.This CAEXPO and CABIS have made contributions to China-ASEAN strategic partnership and the Belt and Road Initiative.

I. Attendance of state leaders makes the 16th CAEXPO a high-profile event as usual and this CAEXPO promotes the implementation of the "Vision 2030" .
 
The 16th CAEXPO is the first China-ASEAN cooperation event after the release of "Vision 2030". A total of 8 Chinese and foreign leaders and former political leaders attended the CAEXPO,including  H.E.  Han Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China,  H.E. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan ,Special Envoy of President and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia, H.E. U Myint Swe,First Vice President of Myanmar,H.E. Hor Namhong,Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia,H.E. Sonexay Siphandone ,Deputy Prime Minister of Laos ,H.E Jurin Laksanawisit  Deputy Prime Minister and  Minister of Commerce of Thailand,H.E Vu Duc Dam,Vice Premier of Vietnam,H.E. Bronisław Komorowski ,former President of Poland.Besides, In addition, Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, Minister at The Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II of Brunei,Datuk Darell Leiking, Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia,Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore, Abdulgani Macatoman,Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines,Martin Ociepa, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology of Poland have led national delegations to attend the CAEXPO.Representatives of international organizations  including Dr. Aladdin D. Rillo, Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN,Mr.Jin Liqun,the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank , Mr.Hua Jingdong, Vice President  of the World Bank have also participated in the CAEXPO.

There are 240 minister-level guests attending the event, including 134 from ASEAN and other regions.
 
A series of high-level friendly exchange and networking events were held at the CAEXPO. Vice Premier Han Zheng held 6 bilateral meetings with the visiting leaders from ASEAN countries  and delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony. He joined Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan ,Special Envoy of President and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia for the opening ceremony of the pavilion of city of charm of the Country of Honor. He met and took a group photo with Chinese and international entrepreneurs, founders of the China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs’ Association. The Chinese and foreign leaders and heads of the delegations of other countries had pavilion tours and attended the opening ceremony of the CAEXPO and the CABIS.State leaders also delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Minister-level guests participated in the forums and exchanges in various fields.
 
The leaders of the participating countries spoke highly of the achievements of China-ASEAN friendly cooperation and the important role played by the CAEXPO.They have expressed willingness and showed determination to realize "Vision 2030", deepen all-round friendly cooperation, jointly oppose unilateralism and protectionism, and build Belt and Road together. 
 
Han Zheng ,Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China, pointed out at the opening ceremony that the two sides will join hands more closely and continue to move toward the goal set in the " Vision2030" to create lasting peace,make a bright future for common prosperity.He also put forward five suggestions for synergizing development strategies, deepening economic and trade cooperation, advancing connectivity, strengthening  innovation and cooperation, and increasing people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
 
Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan ,Special Envoy of President and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia,said that we have a common strategic vision and we want to build a world of tolerance, respect and peace. Indonesia believes that we should strengthen cooperation and seek common prosperity  in the region rather than strategic competition. Indonesia will work with other ASEAN members and China to ensure the realization of this goal.
 
U Myint Swe,First Vice President of Myanmar, expressed his belief that the Belt and Road Initiative will provide opportunities for further trade development and exchanges between countries in the region through good infrastructure and management assistance.
 
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister He Nanhong said that under the framework of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”, the two-way exchange and cooperation between Cambodia and China will be further developed.

Sonexay Siphandone, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos,said that Laos will continue to participate in and support the implementation of the programs under the framework of the“Belt and Road Initiative” and work with all parties to contribute to the peace, prosperity and sustainable development of the countries along the “Belt and Road”. 

Jurin Laksanawisit , Deputy Prime Minister and  Minister of Commerce of Thailand said that China, Thailand and other ASEAN countries are now joining hands to work together to develop a common vision and help each other to achieve the sustainable development goals.

Vu Duc Dam,Vice Premier of Vietnam said that based on the WTO and the multilateral trading system, the Vietnamese government will continue to provide convenient facilities and environment for the long-term investment and operation of enterprises from various countries in Vietnam.
 
Indonesia, the Country of Honor, hosted a variety of events, including a round-table dialogue between  Luhut ,Special Envoy of President of Indonesia and Chinese CEOs, Indonesia National Promotion Conference etc. Indonesian and Polish artists held a wonderful and distinctive performance before the opening ceremony.

The opening ceremony was based on the theme of “Promoting Result-Based Cooperation for a Bright Shared Future” and showed  a beautiful blueprint for “ Vision 2030” with craftsmanship and willingness to share.

II. New progress in upgrading the China-ASEAN FTA and deepening business cooperation under the BRI. 
 
With a total exhibition area of 134,000 sqm (an increase of 10,000 sqm compared with last year) ,the 16th CAEXPO accommodated up to 7,000 booths (5,400 booths in Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center). Among them, 1548 booths were used by ASEAN and 226 booth were used by other countries and regions,accounting for 32.9% of the total number of booths. 7 ASEAN countries, i.e. Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar,  Thailand and Vietnam, used independent exhibition halls to showcase their own commodities and services respectively. The 16th CAEXPO totally attracted 2,848 exhibiting companies , up by 2.4%  over that of the previous session . 
 
 (1) Deepening China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation
 
Efficient matching of merchandise trade. Chinese companies have highlighted new products, new technologies and new applications in key industries such as 5G applications. For the first time, ASEAN exhibitors introduced product certification and traceability systems. Trade and industry matching meetings, country purchasing meetings and other economic and trade matching activities were held, and the online trade matching system was launched for the first time.
 
Investment and cooperation are pragmatic and in-depth. The ASEAN countries' national promotion conferences, China's relevant provincial and municipal promotion conferences, investment cooperation round-table meetings ,promotion and investment conferences of ASEAN industrial parks, a series of private entrepreneurs  meetings, and international production capacity cooperation meetings were held, including investment and financing matching, fact-to-face meetings of people from banks and enterprises and exchanges of counselors and entrepreneurs .All these events of investment and cooperation are effective and fruitful.
 
(2) Promoting the connectivity of trade along the Belt and Road.
 
Poland is the first special partner e of the CAEXPO  from Europe. Polish special foods, agricultural products, handicrafts, and service products are favored by buyers from China and ASEAN countries. The Polish National Promotion Conference, the National Image Exhibition and the China-Poland Entrepreneur Roundtable Meeting were successfully held. Polish enterprises have shown great interest in strengthening cooperation with China and ASEAN. Relevant enterprises have conducted cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, machinery manufacturing and forestry.
 
The exhibits of the countries along the Belt and Road show new features. For the first time, Republic of Korea has an exhibition of beauty and skin care products. The exhibits of Poland, Italy, Pakistan, Egypt, Ghana, Russia, Sri Lanka and other countries along the Belt and Road have also highlighted the country's advantageous industries. A total of 131 enterprises from 20 countries along the Belt and Road participated in the exhibition in the “Belt and Road”international exhibition area, and the exhibition area increased by 59% compared with the previous session.
 
There are more professional visitors from the “Belt and Road” countries. The professional visitors of this year's CAEXPO are from  more than 60 countries and regions, mainly from ASEAN countries and other countries and regions along the Belt and Road , promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN and other economies outside this region.
 
 (3) Advancing major cooperation mechanisms and projects
 
Firstly, promoting the construction of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor focuses on the cooperation and opportunities of logistics, ports and industrial parks in the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) along the corridor. The 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities along the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor  participated in the special trade and investment conference and signed relevant agreements. In this year's CAEXPO, Chinese "City of Charm" Chengdu and Shaanxi Province, Henan Province have held relevant exchanges and promotion meetings,  and the on-site signing projects cover fruit, coal, machinery and other industries.
 
Secondly, facilitating the construction of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone.For the first time, the booth of the pilot free trade zone was set up  to introduce tasks, area scope, functions ,exploration and reform in deepening the border opening up and China-ASEAN  cooperation .The  pilot free trade zone promotion meeting and investment cooperation negotiation were held for the first time. Nanning, Qinzhou and Chongzuo in the pilot free trade zone were promoted to help enterprises from all over the world to seek new business opportunities in this area. The contracted projects involved international e-commerce, electronic technology, port trade processing and manufacturing, cross-border logistics, and urban complex,cross-border trade, cross-border tourism and shopping, international professional market and other fields. Guangxi has signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with China National Offshore Oil Corporation Co., Ltd. and China Datang Group Co., Ltd. to promote the construction of the pilot free trade zone with pragmatic cooperation.
 
Thirdly, advancing the construction of a financial gateway opening to ASEAN. The President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and said that the AIIB will actively participate in building  a financial gateway opening to ASEAN to help ASEAN countries develop their financial markets. The heads of financial management departments, financial institutions of China and ASEAN countries , and the World Bank of attended the China-ASEAN Financial Cooperation and Development Leadership Forum and the Summit of Financial Gateway to ASEAN.They have reached new consensus in the areas of  infrastructure investment and financing, cross-border RMB settlement, etc.  The insurance forum and the investment and financing project matchmaking meeting were successfully held, which promoted the matching of banks and enterprises. The participating financial institutions from China and ASEAN countries demonstrated new business opportunities in the context of the construction of financial gateway opening to ASEAN.
 
Fourthly, assisting in matching with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. To carry the outline development plan for of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, through the exhibition and a series of professional matching activities, the expo has promoted the deep regional cooperation between the Greater Bay Area and the surrounding areas and  Southeast Asia. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute have set up special exhibition areas. A large number of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao enterprises participated in the expo, such as Hong Kong's high-quality electronic and electrical enterprises, Macao's building materials enterprises and architectural design agencies, Guangdong's commercial supermarkets and cross-border e-commerce companies, etc. We held a special purchasing meeting for the electronic and electrical industry, cross-bordere-commerce special trade matching meeting, China-ASEAN International Designers Summit and other activities. Enterprises in Greater Bay Area have talks and discussion with  the surrounding provinces and ASEAN countries  with the focus on industrial matching, industrial park investment, service industry and etc.

Fifthly, promoting the construction of China-ASEAN Information Harbor.   well-known e-commerce enterprises, cross-border e-commerce platforms, e-commerce industrial parks of China and ASEAN countries actively participated in the exhibition, such as BD Work, SF Express, Ant Foreign Goods, Nanning Comprehensive Bonded Zone, etc., launched online and offline linkage transactions. The China-ASEAN E-Commerce Forum, China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Summit and China-ASEAN Information Harbor Partner Signing Ceremony were successfully held. Alibaba Cloud, Huawei, Sugon, Inspur, IFLYTEK and other well-known enterprises participated in the Artificial Intelligence Summit exhibition. The exhibition has pragmatically promoted the China-ASEAN digital economic cooperation.

 (4) Expanding cooperation in many fields
 
A total of 33 high-level forums were held under the framework of the current CAEXPO, in which 25 forums in the fields of international capacity, agriculture, finance, and environmental protection were held. Through multi-level and multi-field exchange activities, the cooperation mechanism in various fields has been improved. For example, the China-Malaysia Capacity and Investment Cooperation Forum promoted the China-Malaysia capacity cooperation mechanism and the construction of “two countries and two parks”; the China-ASEAN Port City Cooperation Network Working Conference focused on the new land and sea channel, enriching the China-ASEAN maritime interconnection mechanism The series of forums enriched the “Nanning Channel” and promoted the implementation of the “Vision 2030” in various fields.
 
During the current CAEXPO, a rich and diverse cultural exchange event was held. In conjunction with the China-ASEAN Media Exchange Year, the China-ASEAN TV Week series was held. In addition, the China-ASEAN Cultural Forum, Cultural Tourism Week, Drama Week, Folk Song Art Festival, Youth Art Creation Competition, Student Talent Party, and Car Rally were all wonderful, which enhanced mutual understanding and friendship.
 
 (5) Improved service to the business community
 
The first is to build a pragmatic platform for private enterprises. Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Technology, delivered a speech on behalf of private entrepreneurs at the opening meeting, pointing out that there is a broad space for economic cooperation between China and ASEAN in the future. It is even more deeply felt that the market potential of ASEAN countries is huge and more firm. The determination of the ASEAN market to accelerate development, the entrepreneurs gave a speech at the opening conference, highlighting the role of the East China Fair's political and business communication bridge. During the session, China and ASEAN leading private enterprises in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, interconnection and infrastructure construction attended the China-ASEAN private entrepreneurs series activities, and carried out pragmatic cooperation around the “Belt and Road” related fields. The East China Pacific Association’s chief strategic partner Pacific Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Construction Group Yan Yan, Dai Liangye, Executive Chairman of Malaysian Zhengyang Group, Zhang Jinxiong, Executive Vice President of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Wang Licheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Huali Group Co., Ltd., and Huang Qingsheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Singapore Jinsheng Logic Co., Ltd. Entrepreneurs fully affirmed the geographical advantages and investment environment of Guangxi in China-ASEAN cooperation and expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation through the “Nanning Channel” to jointly promote private enterprises to participate in the new international land and sea trade channel and the construction of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. Achieve higher quality and faster development in the joint construction and sharing.
 
The second is to exchange and cooperate innovative services for enterprises. For the first time, the CAEXPO Association Supporters Association Joint Conference was held to establish a regular meeting mechanism for the East China Association of Supporters. A 500-person Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs exchange meeting was held to enhance exchanges between enterprises from various countries. The first blue book of the CAEXPO, "The Development Report of the ASEAN Industrial Park in the Context of China-ASEAN International Capacity Cooperation" was published, which became the innovation of the CAEXPO to extend the value chain of the exhibition and strengthen the service to enterprises.
 
III CABIS innovated design and arrangement of events, building a platform for business exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN
 
At this time, CABIS consolidated and optimized the original brand activities, designed innovative activities, and implemented a new model combining annual meeting with meetings all year round. A series of activities included a round-table dialogue between Indonesian national leaders and Chinese CEOs, China-ASEAN Business Leaders Forum, Trade and Investment Symposium of 13 Provinces along Belt and Road New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and Joint Meeting of China-ASEAN Leaders of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dialogue with Unicorn Enterprises----Integrating into Innovation Era,,Interpreting the Code of Growth ---Zhongguancun High-Tech Enterprises’ Way into ASEAN, the 2nd "Belt and Road" Forum on New Economy Development Development and Launching Ceremony of  China-ASEAN Digital Trade Hub and New Western Land-Sea Corridor Digital Trade Hub , China - ASEAN Fruit Industry Development Forum, China-ASEAN Business Networking Dinner, and other important activities.Through CABIS, we explore new opportunities and new opportunities in the new round of industrial transformation, and promote the regional pragmatic cooperation of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area. During the session, the China-ASEAN Digital Trade Hub Center, the Western Luhai New Channel Digital Trade Hub Center, the China-ASEAN Cross-border Logistics Management Platform and the China-ASEAN Fruit Supply Chain Management Platform were launched, and 13 provinces along the “One Belt, One Road” Western Luhai New Channel were signed. The District-City Trade and Investment Cooperation Action Plan, issued the “China-Singapore Business Community to jointly discuss and build a new international land and sea trade initiative”.
 
 (1) High-level dialogue results
 
Through the opening speeches, bilateral meetings, and political and business dialogues, political leaders of various countries issued a strong voice to implement the "Vision 2030", demonstrating opposition to unilateralism and protectionism, promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, and working together to create more High-level China-ASEAN strategic partnership and building a consensus and determination of a closer China-ASEAN destiny community.
 
Results of economic and trade cooperation
 
There were 122 buyers group of the East China Expo, an increase of 8.9% over the previous session, and an organized professional audience of more than 12,000, an increase of 10% over the previous session. Trade and investment promotion activities in 90 games, and the economic and trade effectiveness was further improved.

First, the trade in commodities was active. In ASEAN countries, food and beverages, household products, consumer goods, China's construction machinery, food packaging machinery, smart energy and electricity, building materials, etc. have a large volume.

Second, the number and quality of contracted investment projects have been further improved. The contracted projects are concentrated in the “three big three new” and “four new four high” industrial projects. Major projects cover 5G, big data analysis, industrial internet, pharmaceutical development, intelligent manufacturing, smart city, etc., involving Germany, Indonesia, China. Hong Kong and other countries and regions as well as Guangdong, Beijing, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong and other provinces and autonomous regions have fully demonstrated the important platform functions of the East Expo in strengthening regional cooperation and China-ASEAN economic and trade open cooperation. Among them, a Chinese power group signed a nearly $1 billion hydropower project with Indonesian companies.
 
 (3) Multi-field cooperation results
 
First, in terms of interconnection and interoperability, the information service platform for the new land and sea trade new channel was launched. The Beihai Research Institute of Luhai New Channel was unveiled. The China-ASEAN Information Port Company signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and the China Railway Nanning Bureau. Myanmar’s Yangon Port and China’s Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port signed an agreement to conclude a sister port. The “Guangzhou Qinzhou-South America East” direct ocean route was officially opened.
 
Second, in terms of agricultural cooperation, the China-ASEAN Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation and Development Initiative was launched, and the “One Belt and One Road” Country Law Research was released.
 
Third, in terms of digital economic cooperation, the Nanning Municipal People's Government signed a contract with Lazanda Group. The Guangxi Post Office of China Post Group signed a contract with four logistics companies. Guangxi cross-border e-commerce company signed contracts with four express logistics companies such as SF Express. E-commerce cooperation agreement. China-ASEAN (Huawei) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center, China-ASEAN Information Port Myanmar Cloud Computing Center and other projects signed, the China-ASEAN financial information service platform officially launched. Huawei, Xiaomi, Inspur, and Shenzhou Information and other leading enterprises in smart technology signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Guangxi to promote the digital economy.
 
Fourth, in terms of education cooperation, signed a number of cooperation agreements with vocational colleges, enterprises and industries in China and ASEAN countries, and established the New Business International Vocational Education Alliance Secretariat and the Digital Economy Collaborative Innovation Center in Nanning, Zhongtai Yalongsi Road College Unveiled. The China Education International Exchange Association and the Human Resources Department of Malaysia signed a memorandum of cooperation and issued the "Nanning Consensus on the China-Malaysia Vocational Education Roundtable Summit."
 
Fifth, in terms of media exchange, the Chinese media organizations and related projects of media cooperation between Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore were signed, and the China-ASEAN network audio-visual industry base was listed for operation.

Sixth, in terms of standardization cooperation, China's first cooperation initiative with the ASEAN countries in the field of standardization - the Nanning Initiative.
Seventh, in terms of financial cooperation, the Guangxi Provincial Zhuang Autonomous Region Local Financial Supervision Bureau and the Construction Bank Guangxi Branch signed a cooperation framework agreement, Liuzhou Bank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Cambodian Bank of China, and Guilin Bank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hong Leong Bank of Malaysia. BOC Hong Kong Southeast Asia Business Operations Center and China Pacific Insurance Group ASEAN Insurance Service Center were unveiled.
 
Eight is women's cooperation, China's Guangxi Women's Federation and Laos Luang Prabang Provincial Women's Federation signed a friendly exchange agreement; Chinese companies and universities respectively signed a number of family services, education and training, trade and other fields with Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Cooperation agreement.
 
Nine is in the area of scientific and technological cooperation, signed the "Memorandum of China-Cambodia Bilateral Technology Transfer Cooperation", a group of Chinese institutions of higher learning signed cooperation agreements with ASEAN countries such as Thailand to jointly build the China-ASEAN Integrated Transportation International Joint Laboratory; China-ASEAN Information Port Co., Ltd. and Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines and other ASEAN countries signed a multilateral memorandum of China-ASEAN Internet Application Technology Joint Innovation Center; China's medical, science and technology institutions and ASEAN related institutions signed multi-field science and technology cooperation agreements covering bilateral technology transfer cooperation The results of China-ASEAN science and technology cooperation in the three major categories of mechanism, platform construction and innovation resources cooperation.
 
Ten is the statistical cooperation, and released the China-ASEAN Statistical Yearbook 2019, which was jointly published by China and ASEAN countries.
 
V. The CAEXPO becomes more influential within the region and beyond
 
177 media from 22 countries have sent 1,298 journalists to take part in the 16th CAEXPO, including 140 journalists from72 media of ASEAN and other countries. The media of various countries have made news reports of the economic advantages and huge business opportunities of China and ASEAN countries in the construction of the Belt and Road. Live broadcasts were held by NICE TV of Cambodia.
 
Leaders of various countries spoke highly of this event.
 
Han Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China, said that the CAEXPO and CABIS have become an important open cooperation platform for China-ASEAN. I believe that the success of this event will further expand the function of "Nanning Channel" and make contributions to the Belt and Road.
 
Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Special Envoy of President and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs of Indonesia, said that the CAEXPO has become an important platform for investment and trade promotion activities in Asia for 16 years and has become a model for good cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.
 
U Myint Swe,First Vice President of Myanmar, said that is very important that we need to improve the infrastructure and connectivity of countries, especially to strengthen the construction of roads, ports, railways, finance, financial systems and geographical facilities, so as to promote trade, tourism, investment and people-people exchanges.It is proper and meaningful for making theme of the CAEXPO as“Building the Belt & Road, Realizing Our Vision for a Community of Shared Future”.
 
Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, said that the CAEXPO effectively promoted the business matching between the two parties, thus enhancing the steady growth of two-way trade and investment.
 
Sonexay Siphandone ,Deputy Prime Minister of Laos,said that in the past 16 years, the CAEXPO has not only showed the brilliant achievements China and ASEAN have made in strengthening business and investment cooperation, but also greatly promoted cooperation between the two sides in the fields of people-to-people exchanges.
 
Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand, said that over the past 16 years, the CAEXPO has been a platform for ASEAN and Chinese entrepreneurs to understand each other, play their roles and unleash their potential.
 
Vu Duc Dam, Vice Premier of Vietnam ,said that after 15 successful sessions, the CAEXPO and CABIS have become a grand event for the business community in the region, and a successful model in the economic and trade cooperation between ASEAN and China.
 
VI. About the 17th CAEXPO & the 17th CABIS
 
Participants of the CAEXPO Senior Officials’ Meeting held on the afternoon of September 23 reached consensuses as follows:
 
1. Preliminary Dates: September 18 -21, 2020
 
2. Country of Honor: Lao People's Democratic Republic,confirmed by the Lao co-organizer.
 
3. The 17th CABIS will be held concurrently with the 17th CAEXPO.
