NPC Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo and State Department Premier Wen Jiabao met with Laos Parliament Chairman-Xin in the People Great Hall on the 24th.

     During the meeting, Wu Bangguo said that China and Laos had a traditional friendship and bilateral political mutual trust, mutual support, the development of good-neighborly friendship and comprehensive cooperation conforms to the fundamental interests of the two countries’ peoples. He pointed out that the good political relations should promote pragmatic cooperation in the economic and trade fields. China was willing to work together with Laos on deepening infrastructure, agriculture and other fields of mutually beneficial cooperation and expanding business cooperation, strengthening personnel exchange and training, creating benefit for the two countries’ peoples. He said that the Chinese National People's Congress and Laos Congress would maintain high-level visiting and continue to carry out specialized friendly contacts during the Commissions, exchange experience in managing state affairs, closely cooperate in international and regional parliamentary organizations, in the meet to promote comprehensive and in-depth development of bilateral relations reinvigorate.

     Wen Jiabao said that China and Laos are close friends and partners. In the new century, deepening Sino-Lao good-neighborly friendship and all-round cooperative relations was strategic significance. Chinese high-level was willing to contact with Laos continually and deepen political mutual trust, expand cooperation in the trade, finance, education, science and technology, human resources development and other fields. China continued to implement the project of assistance for Laos, to help Laos improve capacity for self-development.

     Laos Parliament Chairman - Xin said that China 30 years reform and opening had great achievements, made fully proved that the socialist road of Chinese characteristics was completely correct. Laos ongoing reform and opening, hoped that the two sides in various fields, particularly in the field of economic cooperation, better learn from the development experience of China. He reiterated that Laos Party, government and people firmly stood on the side of the Chinese people, against any person in any form to split China acts, to support the Beijing Olympic Games.
