
Background
The 1st and 2nd China-ASEAN ICT Weeks were held in 2005 and 2006 in China and Malaysia respectively. At the 11th China-ASEAN Summit, H.E. Mr. Wen
Jiabao, Premier of the People's Republic of China, proposed that the 3rd China-ASEAN ICT Week be held in China in 2008, to further promote mutual
understanding and cooperation between China and ASEAN in the filed of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), and to strengthen their ICT
cooperative partnership for common development.
